On 19 August 2025, the world marked World Humanitarian Day, a day to recognize the courage and dedication of humanitarian workers and to stand in solidarity with people affected by crises. The 2025 global campaign called for an end to attacks on humanitarian workers and civilians and urged those with power to #ActForHumanity.
Humanitarian workers are often among the first to respond when communities face conflict, displacement, drought, disasters, and other emergencies. They work to deliver essential services, protect vulnerable people, and support communities through some of their most difficult moments.
At Aid for Integrated Development (AID), we recognize the commitment of humanitarian workers who serve communities every day. We also reaffirm the importance of protecting humanitarian personnel, respecting humanitarian principles, and ensuring safe and sustained humanitarian access to people in need.
Protecting humanitarian workers means protecting the people and communities who depend on them. On World Humanitarian Day 2025, AID stands with those who serve humanity.
