About AID

Relief, Recovery, Resilience

Aid for Integrated Development (AID) is a national humanitarian and development organization working across Ethiopia to support vulnerable and crisis-affected communities to live with dignity, strengthen their resilience, and achieve greater self-reliance. Through integrated, inclusive, and community-led programming, AID links humanitarian response with sustainable development, peacebuilding, and long-term resilience, working with communities, government institutions, partners, and other stakeholders to deliver locally relevant and sustainable solutions.

AID is a national humanitarian and development organization committed to supporting vulnerable and crisis-affected communities across Ethiopia through integrated, inclusive, and community-led solutions that strengthen resilience, dignity, and self-reliance.

AID works at the intersection of humanitarian action, sustainable development, and peacebuilding, guided by the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus approach. We respond to immediate and evolving needs while strengthening community resilience, local systems, livelihoods, social cohesion, and pathways to sustainable recovery. Our programmes are inclusive, locally led, evidence-informed, and responsive to the priorities and realities of the communities we serve, with a focus on lasting and sustainable impact.

We apply participatory, inclusive, and community-led approaches that promote ownership, accountability, learning, and sustainability.

Through strong partnerships with government institutions, UN agencies, national and international NGOs, donors, and other development actors, we combine local knowledge, technical expertise, resources, and networks to deliver coordinated, evidence-informed, and sustainable humanitarian and development solutions.

Our Story

Our Mission and Vision

Our work focuses on essential services, protection, education, health and nutrition, WASH, food security and livelihoods, while addressing cross-cutting priorities including gender equality, women's empowerment, inclusion, climate change adaptation, and community resilience.
